Dagger GT

TranStar, the developers of the 2,000 hp Dagger GT supercar, have released new images details and updated price information regarding their rocket. The TranStar Dagger GT supercar is powered by a 9.4 liter V8 engine that develops a time-bending 2,000 hp and 2000 lb-ft of torque. The company has previously announced that the TranStar Dagger GT supercar is able to get from 0 to 60 mph in 1.5 seconds and up to a top speed of 300 mph. That's 480 km/h if you live in Europe.

The Dagger GT price starts at 500,000+ USD for the sports model and at 600,000 USD for the luxury model. If the Dagger GT is really able to do what TranStar says it can do, it's actually a bargain. For the 1,000 hp Veyron you have to pay three times that much.

Apart from the new pricing information on the Dagger GT, TranStar also announced its dragster / racing version, which outputs, wait for it... 2,500 hp. TranStar hopes to take the racing version of the Dagger GT to a little race next spring. They hope to defeat the 253 mph Standing Mile world record and the 268 mph top speed record.

It seems the world has now three real hyper cars - the Veyron, the SSC and now the Dagger GT.

If you want to buy one of the first 12 Dagger GTs you'll have to make a refundable 1,000 USD deposit for which you'll also get a test drive. TranStar Press Release:

TranStar Racing is now taking refundable escrow deposits for the first twelve 2011 model year production cars. These first 12 cars will roll out in the second half of 2011. Visit www.DaggerGT.com to contact the company for more information, or e-mail ncmiller@gtr-xs.com . A refundable $1,000 USD deposit will reserve one of the first 12 cars, plus a test drive in one of

the two prototypes that will roll out in early 2011. One prototype will be the Dagger GT-X Luxury model which will be our “show” car, with custom paint and interior by After FX Customs.

The other prototype will be the 2500 horsepower land-speed/drag racing model, which should break the world record for the Standing Mile (253 mph) and the 268 mph top speed record in the Spring of 2011 (hopefully both records will fall with one pass at the Miami Top Gun Standing Mile at the old Supersonic Jetport in the Everglades). This car features a Nelson Racing Engines Twin Turbo 572 ci

engine running on racing fuel. Later in August and September, 2011, the landspeed model will ease out into the desert for several attempts at 300 mph. We have an exciting video (available upon request) of one of Tom Nelson’s 427 twin turbo engines doing 260.1 mph at El Mirage with only 9 psi. Imagine what Tom’s Twin Turbo 572 will do with 30 psi and 1000 more horsepower!

Drag Records - When re-fitted with traction mechanics for drag racing, the 2500 horsepower car should also set new acceleration records for the current group of so-called “supercars” including new supercar records for the quarter mile (200+ mph) and zero-to-sixty mph in under 1.5 seconds!

Pricing - The Dagger GT–S Sport model will start at $500,000+ USD and the luxury model will start at $600,000 USD. Options are unlimited and extra.
