This is arguably the first turbocharged Subaru BRZ to hit the dyno. The result is 278 whp (horsepower measured at the wheels) at 7,200 rpm and 291 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm. The standard BRZ is rated with an output of 200 hp at the crank, which decreases quite a bit when measured at the wheels. To get the 2.0-liter engine of the Subaru BRZ to put out so much power, the car is fitted with a 10 psi turbo. However, its developers were not looking to get the most out of the engine. Instead they wanted to build a reliable drivetrain. This means a lot more is possible, if you're not looking to hold on to your BRZ for too long.
