Nissan and Sony (PlayStation) announced today the details of their GT Academy 2012, which puts the winner of a GranTurismo competition behind the wheel of a real racecar. One of the competition’s previous three winners actually managed to get a podium finish at Le Mans. To enter the fourth round of the Nissan GT Academy (2012) all you need is a PlayStation3 gaming console. You also need to download for free the GT Academy qualification challenge theme for the GranTurismo video game. All competitors who enter Nissan's 2012 GT Academy must be registered to the PlayStation Network and have an Internet connection.
If you're over 18 and have a driving license, this is your chance of becoming a real racecar driver. The online qualification stage of the GT Academy runs until the early hours of Monday, 25 June, 2012 in Europe (closing at 2359 hrs BST on 24 June being 0059 CEST on 25 June). The fastest 16 players will battle it out in National Final events. Out of these events, the top 6 competitors will go to Silverstone where they will get real racing training. Good luck!
