Chrysler announced today that the 2008 Jeep Patriot received a better IIHS crash safety rating. The Auto Safety Group rated the 2008 Jeep Patriot with "Good" for the frontal crash test and with "Acceptable" for the rear crash protection. For the side impact, the 2008 Jeep Patriot received a "Good" rating thanks to the front torso airbags.
The safety equipment list of the 2008 Jeep Patriot includes ESP, brake traction control, ABS, side-curtain airbags, Electronic Roll Mitigation and Brake Assist.
Previously, the 2008 Jeep Patriot received a poor rating, but now the Institute revised their testing due to the fact that the dummy used for the test was not calibrated correctly.
