Ford Performance revealed today the track-only Mustang Shelby FP350S at the 2016 Performance Racing Industry show in Indianapolis. The Ford Mustang Shelby FP350S was developed for such road racing events as Trans Am (TA3 and TA4), NASA and SCCA club racing (T1 and T2). The Shelby FP350S comes to complete Ford's line-up of race-ready models, which also include the FR500C, the BOSS 302R and 302S, the Shelby GT350R-C and the GT4. The Ford Mustang Shelby FP350S is powered by a 5.2-liter four-valve-per-cylinder V8 engine. Unfortunately, The Blue Oval did not disclose the horsepower and torque output of this powertrain. They didn't mention the car's performance figures (top speed, acceleration time) either. The engine is mated to a Tremec 3160 manual gearbox with an integral oil pump, shifter, which offers a 3.73 rear final drive ratio.
The Ford Mustang Shelby FP350S equipment list includes a modified unibody chassis with seam welding, a 6-point FIA-compliant roll cage, a racing oil pan and cooler, a performance exhaust system. The Shelby FP350S comes with a racing suspension which features electric steering calibrations, and an ultra-high-performance brake system. The Mustang Shelby FP350S comes as standard with a set of 19x10.5-inch front and 19x11-inch rear wheels. Optionally, you can get 18x11-inch forged racing wheels.
In terms of aerodynamics, the Shelby FP350S comes with a Ford Performance splitter and a carbon fiber adjustable rear wing. At the interior, the new racing car features a MOTEC data acquisition system, a Sparco FIA-compliant racing seat, and a quick-release steering wheel.
