Shelby American revealed at the end of last week the new 2014 Shelby GT package. The new Shelby GT program is based on the 2014 Ford Mustang GT and it is available in three versions. The basic 2014 Shelby GT develops 430 hp, but there are also two supercharged versions, called the Shelby GT/SC, that develop 525 hp and 624 hp. The base Shelby GT (2014) kit includes a Ford Racing suspension system, a bespoke exhaust system, a modified intake and a re-mapped ECU. The new Shelby GT (2014) is also fitted with a special set of wheels and tires, a short shifter, a custom hood and "go faster" Le Mans stripes. Optionally, the 2014 Shelby GT package can include a stiffer suspension, bigger brakes, a supercharger kit and various styling mods.
The top of the range 2014 Shelby GT/SC (624 hp) is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.7 seconds and it can run the quarter mile in the mid 11 seconds range. Shelby American says it can pull up to 1G during cornering.
The 2014 Shelby GT's price starts at $14,995, which the GT/SC is going to cost you at least $27,995. These prices do not include the basic price of the Mustang.
