Hummer Press Release:

The all-new 2009 HUMMER H3T is set to go on sale in the Middle East this November following an extensive testing and validation process designed to prove its stamina in various areas of on and off-road performance. HUMMER is bringing its unmistakable style and unmatched capability to the pick-up market with the 2009 H3T.

As is the case with other testing and validation programs GM Middle East runs, this one was designed to ensure that the H3T is specifically adjusted to meet the demanding needs of potential Middle East customers and the environment they live in, and that it can, in true HUMMER style, dominate various types of terrain in the region.

“GM engineers have conducted an extensive test program on HUMMER H3T in GM's proving ground test facilities worldwide, and the Middle East team is doing its fair share. We are performing a round of gruesome hot weather testing in the region to examine every possible engineering, design,

and build-quality aspect of the vehicle to make sure the H3T is ready for the Middle East market,” said Duminda Unantenne, Regional Quality Manager in the Middle East.

The testing was carried out on inner-city roads and highways, in the sandy desert of the United Arab Emirates and the rocky mountains of Oman. Two vehicles were put through various tests, to simulate all driving conditions across the Middle East.

The engine’s performance was examined in numerous tests designed to make sure it could withstand different driving conditions. Vehicle handling and responsiveness were also examined, in addition to the fuel systems, and the air-conditioning and cooling systems, which were also tested to make sure they met regional standards.

“It is very important to provide our customers with vehicles that suit their individual needs and requirements. The H3T is ideal for customers who work hard and play harder. The H3T retains the HUMMER brand’s DNA, including exceptional off-road capability and a premium interior that is as functional as it is comfortable”, stated Johnny Amiouni, HUMMER’s Marketing Manager in Middle East, “We are extremely proud of our validation

programme and we are looking forward to launching this outstanding vehicle in November”.

The H3T is based on the architecture of the popular H3, but features a five-passenger crew cab and a separate 1.5 meters long bed. It is bigger than a midsize pick-up and smaller than a full-size pick-up, creating its own niche in the market. It also is infused with the attributes expected of a HUMMER, including exceptional off-road capability and a premium interior that is as functional as it is comfortable.
