Various sources are reporting that Renault is preparing a limited edition version of the Clio RS, called the Williams. This would be the second generation of the Clio Williams. The first one, which was launched back in 1992, is widely considered one of the best pocket rockets ever made. Renault's new Clio Williams aims to be even better. It will probably have a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, tuned to output no less than 240 hp. This will put the Clio Williams dangerously close to the much more expensive 247bhp Megane RS.
The 2012 Renault Clio Williams will have the same chassis as the Clio RS Cup, but it will feature race-grade dampers developed by Sachs. This means that the new Williams Clio will have a stiffer
ride in comparison to the standard RS, but it will also have improved cornering capabilities.
Renault is expected to equip the 2012 Clio Williams with bigger brakes, Bridgestone Potenza high performance tires, and several other track oriented parts. The 2012 Clio Williams however, will not be a tripped out race car. It will come with satellite navigation, air conditioning Recaro bucket seats, and various distinctive styling cues.
Our sources expect that the 2012 Renault Clio Williams price will be in the 25,000 GBP range.
