Renault released recently a teaser video for what could very well be the new generation 2012 Megane R26.R. Renault announces that the new model, which we hope it's the 2012 Megane R26.R, will have it's premiere on June 17, 2011, on the Nurburgring race track. The clip does not say much about the sporty Megane Renault is going to unveil. It just shows a camouflaged prototype that does a few laps of the famous race track.
The current generation of the Renault Megane R26.R is a high-performance, track oriented version of the hatchback. It's powered by a 230 hp 2.0-liter turbo engine that sends 310 Nm of torque to the front wheels. It comes with a roll cage, competition grade brakes, a stiff suspension and Sabelt bucket seats.
The current Renault Megane R26.R is able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 6.0 seconds and has a top speed of 237 km/h.
