999Motorsports, a car manufacturer based in Thailand and the United states, revealed recently their latest race car, called simply the Supersport. The 999Motorsports Supersport has a mid-engine rear-wheel-drive architecture and it's powered by an Ecotec 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. The output of the new Supersport is rated by 999Motorsports at 300 hp at 5600 rpm (225 hp when the car is equipped with its endurance ECU) and 350 Nm of torque. This is just about the same as a Mitsubishi Evo X, but the Supersport weighs 700 kg less than an Evo. In fact 999Motorsports says that their Supersport race car weighs 950 kg. In fact, if you pay close attention to the headlights of the

Supersport, you'll find out its secret. We believe the car is actually based on a Mitsubishi Evo X.

The engine of the 999Motorsports Supersport is mated to a 5-speed sequential transmission which transfers the power to the wheels via a limited slip diff. The 999Motorsports Supersport has a double wishbone, with an adjustable anti-roll bar suspensions system, rebound adjustable shock absorbers, 320 mm brake discs at the front with 6-piston calipers and 285 mm discs at the rear axle with 4-piston calipers.

999Motorsports built their new Supersport racer on a tube space frame chassis with aluminum powder-coated panels. The car measures 4210 mm in length, 1850 mm in width, and has a 2460 mm wheel base.

999Motorsports did not disclose the price of their new Supersport track car.
