Audi has announced today it will unveil the Audi A8 hybrid tomorrow at the Geneva auto show. The Audi A8 hybrid will be powered by a 2.0 TFSI engine and an electric motor. The Audi A8 hybrid develops 180 kW (245 hp) and 480 Nm (354.03 lb-ft) and the carmaker says it has the same performance figures as a model powered by a large-capacity conventional six-cylinder engine. The Audi A8 hybrid has a fuel consumption of 6.2 l/100 km (37.94 US mpg) and a 144 g/km (231.75 g/mile) CO2 emissions level.

The electric motor of the Audi A8 hybrid develops 33 kW (45 hp) and 211 Nm (155.63 lb-ft) of torque and is integrated between the 4-cylinder gasoline engine and the 8-speed tiptronic transmission. The petrol engine of the Audi A8 hybrid alone develops 155 kW (211 hp).

In electric mode only, the Audi A8 hybrid can reach a top speed of 65 km/h (40.39 mph) and a range of two kilometers (1.2 miles).
