Although not as impressive as other commercials aired during the 2011 Super Bowl XLV, the Chevrolet Volt does strike a few cords. The Chevrolet Volt 2011 Super Bowl ad shows various technological accomplishments done in the field of electricity through history. Chevy's Super Bowl XLV advert shows every major breakthrough, from the invention of the light bulb, to putting the first rocket in space, to the fantastic electric guitar of Jimi Hendrix. The Chevrolet Volt also aims to be considered a breakthrough in the field of electricity, as one of the mass produced electric vehicles. However, it’s possible that with the Tesla Roadster, and other electric cars on the market today, the Chevy Volt however, will not get that page in the history books though.
