Launched in 1948 at the Paris Auto Show the Citroen 2 CV turns 60 this years. At that time the Citroen 2 CV was technically very innovative and was able to anticipate the needs of several generations of users. In total there were 5,114,959 Citroen 2 CVs produced around the world with the last one going out of the Mangualde plant, Portugal, on July 27, 1990, at 16 am.

The Citroen press release says that the spirit of the Citroen 2 CV is embodied today in the Citroen C-Cactus concept car presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show last year. Could this mean that the C-Cactus anticipates a new version of the Citroen 2 CV ?
