Mazda CX7 2.5 and 2.2 turbo diesel

Mazda has announced that the Australian market version of the Mazda CX7 will receive two new engines - the 2.5 liter petrol and the 2.2 turbo diesel engines from the Mazda6. The FWD Mazda CX7 will be available with a naturally aspirated 2.5 liter inline-four, DOHC, 16-valve petrol engine developing 120kW at 6,000rpm and 205Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. With this new unit the Mazda CX7 will offer a 9.4 liters per 100km fuel consumption.

The Mazda CX7 Diesel Sports will be powered by a 2.2 liter turbo-diesel engine with 127kW at 3,500rpm and 400Nm of torque at 2,000rpm. With the new diesel unit the Mazda CX7 will have a fuel consumption of 7.6 liters per 100km.

Mazda Australia will later this year add two new engines to its updated CX-7 crossover range, both delivering impressive fuel economy and that Zoom-Zoom driving promise.

On sale in November, the refreshed CX-7 range will adopt the proven 2.5 liter naturally-aspirated and 2.2 liter turbo-diesel engines already used in the award-winning Mazda6. By doing so, Mazda



recognizes the diverse needs of Australian SUV buyers, becoming the only country where all three powertrains are offered.

Mazda's refreshed sporty SUV will be available in a choice of three powertrains, three transmissions, two drivetrains and four feature-packed grades.

The newly adopted front-wheel-drive CX-7 Classic utilizes the naturally aspirated 2.5 liter engine and is mated to a 5-speed Activematic transmission. The inline-four, DOHC, 16-valve configuration delivers maximum power of 120kW at

6,000rpm and maximum torque of 205Nm at 2,000rpm. Fuel economy is an impressive 9.4 liters per 100km.

The new CX-7 Diesel Sports with 2.2 liter turbo-diesel engine boasts maximum power of 127kW at 3,500rpm and a maximum torque of 400Nm at 2,000rpm. Power is delivered via a 6-speed manual transmission and transferred to the road through Mazda's proven Active Torque Split All-Wheel-Drive system. Impressive performance is matched by keen fuel economy of only 7.6 liters per 100km.

Carried over in the refreshed CX-7 range and available in the CX-7 Classic Sports and CX-7 Luxury Sports is the powerful 2.3-litre Direct Injection Spark Ignition turbo engine producing an impressive 175kW of power and 350Nm of torque. Mated to a 6-speed Activematic transmission, it also utilizes the Active Torque Split All-Wheel-Drive system.

All models in the CX-7 crossover range will feature updated styling and revised features details of which will be released in the near future.
