Mazda released a new set of Mazda Furai photos - the concept that had its debut at the 2008 North American International Auto Show. The Mazda Furai, which means sound of the wind is the latest Nagare concept and celebrates 40 years Mazda involvement in motorsport.

The Mazda Furai was designed at the Mazda North American Operations’ (MNAO) studio in Irvine, California under the leadership of Franz von Holzhausen, to be functional race car.

The deisgn of the Mazda Furai is based on the Le Mans Courage C65 chassis and features a closed cockpit with Nagare design elements.

On the Mazda Furai, Nagare's lines enhance the

car's aerodynamic performance, by channelling and directing the air flow over its body. At the front, the air-flow package takes air moving under the car and directs it inside the body to the engine-cooling radiators, while the form of the Mazda Furai's side surfaces feeds air to the rear brakes, the oil cooler and the transmission cooler.
