Mazda Hiroshima Plant Hit And Run

According to various reports and to an official statement from Mazda, yesterday, on June 22, 2010, a former employee went on a rampage at the company's Hiroshima plant which resulted in one death and ten other people injured. The suspect, who was later identified as 39-year-old Hiroshi Hamada, entered the Mazda's East Gate at around 7:35 AM. The drove though the company's grounds hitting eleven Mazda employees and left one of them dead. He than ran away through the plant's North Gate.

Although the company's official statement does not disclose this, various sources are reporting that Hamada was fired from Mazda in April. Mazda's official position on this matter is that Hamada chose to quit the firm for personal reasons.

After the Hiroshima plant hit and run incident, Mazda has expressed it's sincerest condolences to the family of the fatal victim.
