Porsche is going to premiere the new Cayenne S Diesel at the end of this week, during the opening of the 2012 Paris auto show. The Porsche Cayenne S Diesel is powered by a new 4.2-litre V8 twin-turbo engine, which is good for 382 hp and a very serious 850 Nm of torque. All this torque goes into a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) acceleration time of 5.7 seconds. The top speed of the Cayenne S Diesel is 157 mph (250 km/h). Thanks to its diesel engine and its auto start/stop function, the new Cayenne S is able to offer pretty decent efficiency numbers, taking into account its performance. The SUV is rated with a 34.0mpg fuel consumption on the combined cycle and with a 218 g/km CO2 emissions level. Thanks to a 100-liter fuel tank, the Cayenne S Diesel has a range of up to 745 miles (1192 km).
The Cayenne S Diesel is equipped with the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) active all-wheel drive system, and the optional Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus). Its equipment list also includes a leather interior, dual-zone automatic climate control, front and rear parking sensors, cruise control, audio system with seven-inch touch-screen, eight-way powered front seat adjustment, front and rear electric windows, 18” alloy wheels.
The Porsche Cayenne S Diesel's price is set in the UK at £58,243 and in the rest of Europe at €101,150 including. The new SUV will go on sale in January 2013, with a three-year warranty.
