Porsche sales decline in US

In the last period of time, despite the financial crisis on the world market, Porsche showed signs it was doing really well. This was obvious especially through the way it has taken over Volkswagen, which, at a certain point last week, was the most valuable company in the world.

In the U.S. however, Porsche is starting to have some difficulties, as it has announced today that it's sales have declined on the North American market. In October Porsche sold 1,541 vehicles here (1,427 in the USA and 114 in Canada) which represents a 39% decrease compared to October last year.

Porsche is not blaming just the international crisis for the decline of their business in the

U.S., but also the model changeover in the 911 series. As the new all-wheel drive versions of the Carrera and the Targa have only been available on the North American market since October 25, the ‘Eleven’ series, with 611 vehicles delivered, showed a decrease of 40 percent compared to the same month in the previous year.

The Porsche Cayenne also showed a decrease of 39% in sales, with 766 vehicles sold.

Porsche also declared it will adjust its production to adapt the numbers of units produced to current demand.
