The Vauxhall Insignia Front Camera System that features Traffic Sign Recognition and Lane Departure Warning will be available as an option on the new sedan and will also equip future Vauxhall/Opel models. The Vauxhall Insignia Front Camera System has a dual function: the Traffic Sign Recognition function reads speed limit and no-overtaking signs and displays them on the instrument panel and the Lane Departure Warning function alerts drivers when they unintentionally veer out of their lane.
The Vauxhall Insignia Front Camera System features a wide-angled, high-resolution camera that was developed by Vauxhall/Opel engineers and specialists from supplier Hella. The 30 frames per second camera is located between the
windscreen and the rear-view mirror and is linked to two signal processors that filter and filter the frames.
