Avon Tyres together with the Mach 2 Racing team from the UK announced they will enter a 1,150 hp Ford RS200 to this year's Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. The Brits aim for a record run in their 1,150 hp Ford RS200 which will be driven by ex-British Rallycross Champion, Mark Rennison.
The awesome power of the Ford RS200 comes from a Garrett turbo that makes for 950bhp on high-octane fuel and you guessed it, 70 liters of Nitrous Oxide that gives an extra 200 hp.
The 1,150 hp Ford RS200 will have to race for 12 miles from an altitude of 9,440 feet at the start to 14,110 feet at the finish. The course has 156 turns and if the road gets too narrow, you can drop from 6,000 feet.
The 1,150 hp Ford RS200 is expected to beat the 10 minute barrier, but as Rennison said, "strange things happen at Pikes Peak".
