Chrysler released today the first images and details of the new 2012 300 SRT8, ahead of its global debut at the New York Auto Show. We'll get right to the point and talk about its power. Chrysler equips the 2012 300 SRT8 with the 6.4 liter Hemi V8 engine, which outputs 465 HP and 465 lb-ft of torque, and a five-speed automatic transmission. The new gearbox of the Chrysler 300 SRT8 2012 model year also puts shift paddles on the steering wheel. The previous engine of the 300 SRT8 was a 6.1-liter with 426 hp. The 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 is expected to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in a little over 4 seconds and its manufacturer says it can reach a top speed of 175 mph (282 km/h).

Chrysler did not just up the power of the

300 SRT8, but they also increased its efficiency for the 2012 model year. The exact figures however, have not yet been made public.

To be able to manage all the extra horsepower, the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 comes with a few extra party tricks. Its brakes have been upgraded to 4-piston Brembo calipers and larger discs. The suspension of the 300 SRT8 2012 has also been updated and now the car sits 0.5 inches (13 mm) closer to the ground.



Chrysler also equipped the new 2012 300 SRT8 with a Adaptive Damping Suspension that adapts the ride characteristics according to the road conditions.

At the interior, the 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 shows a new and very interesting instrument panel, a leather steering wheel, and various carbon fiber trim parts.

The 2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 price will be announced at a later date.
