According to new info coming from the Spanish press, the next generation 2012 Seat Leon will have its world debut at the Frankfurt auto show, in September 2011. The exterior design of the future 2012 Seat Leon will be widely influenced by the IBE Paris concept, which was unveiled... in Paris. Although the IBE is a 3-door hatchback, the 2012 Seat Leon is expected to be a 5-door hatch.

The 2012 Seat Leon will be available with both petrol and diesel engines, which will include the 1.4 TFSI and 2.0 TFSI and the 1.6 TDI and 2.0 TDI. The 2012 Seat Leon will be front-wheel-drive, but it's possible the Spanish brand will also offer a four-wheel-drive version later in the model's life.

The 2012 Seat Leon will be available with both a manual transmission and the DSG automatic gearbox. The Cupra will definitely be a part of the 2012 Seat Leon model range.

We'll have more details on the 2012 Seat Leon as soon as they become available.
