2013 Audi A3 Interior

 »  »  »

Audi released today the first images of the 2013 A3's interior and also disclosed some of its details. The interior of the 2013 Audi A3 shows several differences in comparison to the current generation model's, both in terms of design and technology. For instance, the round rotary pushbutton of the 2013 Audi A3's MMI is now a touchpad. Audi calls it a "touchwheel" (let's see if it will stick). The 7-inch center display of the 2013 A3 will be able to show 3D graphics, even though it's only 11 millimeters thick. Audi compares it to the iPhone and we're left wondering: why is everyone comparing their displays with Apple's gadget these days? The 2013 Audi A3 will be equipped with a Phone Box, which is basically an interface between your Smartphone and the car.

The 2013 MY Audi A3 will be the first model to feature the Ingolstadt carmaker's modular infotainment platform. For those of you who are more interested in the technical part, this new platform features a MMX board (MMX: Multi-Media eXtension) integrated into the MMI's computer. The MMX board is powered by a Nvidia Tegra processor.

We'll have more details about the 2013 Audi A3 and its interior as soon as they're available.
