2013 Ford Mondeo Preview

 »  »  »

Ford released this week the first images of the 2013 Mondeo, offering a preview of the European version of the new 2013 Fusion. The 2013 Ford Mondeo looks basically identical to the Fusion, which lets us speculate the under the hood, their practically the same vehicle. Even though Ford did not release any official details regarding the 2013 Mondeo, we are able to make a few assumptions. For starters, the 2013 Ford Mondeo will probably get a choice between a 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine, developing 179 hp and 233 Nm of torque, and a 2.0-liter EcoBoost, which will deliver 237 hp and 339 Nm of torque.

The new 2013 Ford Fusion will be available with a hybrid powertrain, which could also be transferred to the 2013 Mondeo.

If this will be the case, then the 2013 Ford Mondeo hybrid will have a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine, coupled with an electric motor, which will offer an up to 62 mpg fuel economy.

The 2013 Ford Mondeo, together with the new Fusion, are the first models to be designed using influences taken from the Ford Evos. The Evos concept was unveiled at the Frankfurt auto show last year, where it was quite a sensation.

We'll have more details about the 2013 Ford Mondeo as soon as the Blue Oval makes them available.
