The updated 2014 Volvo S80, V70 and XC70 have been revealed today, bringing several design and technology changes to the model range. In terms of design, the most obvious updates are the headlights and bonnet, which now have a different shape. The rear of the models also shows subtle styling modifications. The 2014 Volvo S80 comes with new front and rear bumpers, rectangular DRLs, and an overall more rounded look. It seems Volvo is trying hard to get rid of the boxy shape that has been their trademark for many years. At the interior, the new Volvo S80 (2014) offers higher quality materials, and slight styling modifications. The 2014 S80 can be ordered with a choice between two chassis: Comfort and Four-C (Continuously Controlled Chassis Concept).
The 2014 Volvo V70 promises to offer a 575-liter boot, which can be increased to 1,600 liters by folding the 40/20/40 rear seats. The 2014 V70 comers with a power-operated tailgate. The new Volvo V70 (2014) comes with a re-styled rear bumper, new tailpipes, chromed details and new tail lights.
The 2014 Volvo XC70 comes equipped with an all-wheel-drive system with Hill Descent Control and several design changes. These include LED DRLs, new bumpers and a wider front grille. The 2014 XC70 has the same luggage compartment characteristics as the new V70.
All models, the 2014 Volvo S80, V70 and XC70 benefit from more efficient engines. These include:
- D2 diesel: 115 hp, 68.9mpg (109 g/km CO2) in the 2014 S80, 65.7mpg (112 g/km) in the 2014 V70;
- D3 diesel (136 hp) and D4 diesel (163 hp): 57.6mpg (129 g/km) in the 2014 S80, 57.6mpg (130 g/km) in the 2014 V70;
- D5 (215 hp) and the D4 (163 hp): 53.3mpg (139 g/km) in the 2014 XC70.
The new versions of the Volvo S80, V70 and XC70 (2014) come with Sensus Connected Touch with new connectivity possibilities, an Adaptive Digital Display, a heated steering wheel and paddle shifters and IntelliSafe systems.
The price list for the update models is going to be announced at a later date.
