Audi announced that it has started investing heavily in Taiwan with Audi Taiwan Limited beginning operations in February 2009. Audi wants to double the number of units sold in Taiwan by 2015.
"We see great potential for our fascinating products in this dynamic growth region," says Peter Schwarzenbauer, Member of the Board of Management of AUDI AG responsible for Marketing and Sales. "With a highly qualified and motivated Audi team, we will offer our customers an exclusive brand experience in Taiwan."
Although Audi just started investing in Taiwan, it has been present on this market for over 20 years through independent importers.
With 1,900 units sold in Taiwan in 2007, Audi wants to become the top premium brand on this market by 2015.
"Our cars are very popular with customers in Taiwan, who have a high appreciation of design and technology. We will significantly expand our model range here," says André Konsbruck, Head of Sales Overseas.
Audi plans to bring four new models in Taiwan, including the Q5 and the R8.
