In a recent interview with a Romanian newspaper, Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI AG, said that Audi is currently studying the possibility of building a new manufacturing plant in Romania. The Romanian Audi plant will have the purpose of increasing the production in order to sustain the 15 new models the German manufacturer is planning to bring on the market in the following years (until 2015).
In the recent period a number of important car manufacturers have announced their plans to build plants in this country, including Daimler and Mitsubishi. These plants are built in preparation to meet the demand from rapidly growing markets like Russia, China and India.
