Brabus revealed today the 800 Roadster, which is based on the latest generation of the Mercedes SL65 AMG. The new Brabus Mercedes SL65 AMG is going to have its world debut next week at the 2013 Geneva auto show. With an upgraded power output and more aggressive looks, the new Brabus SL65 AMG is ready to take the Geneva show by storm. Its power comes from the factory V12 engine, which has been upgraded to output 588 kW / 800 hp (788 bhp) at 5,500 rpm and a mind blowing 1,420 Nm (1,047 lb-ft) of torque from 2,100 rpm. Brabus however, limits to torque output to 1,100 Nm (811 lb-ft). With such a monster engine under its hood, the Brabus 800 Roadster is able to get from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.7 seconds and to 124 mph (100 km/h) in 9.8 seconds.
Brabus says that the top speed of their new Mercedes SL65 AMG is 217 mph (350 km/h).
The extra umpf of the Brabus 800 Roadster comes from a bespoke Biturbo system, high-performance manifolds, water-to-air intercoolers, and a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with free-flow metal catalysts, ceramic-coated tailpipes and an integrated butterfly valve. Of course, the ECU has also been reprogrammed. The 2014 Brabus Mercedes SL65 AMG keeps its original SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission.
Apart from the mountain of extra horsepower, the Brabus 800 Roadster Mercedes SL65 AMG also features a new body kit made from carbon fiber. The new aerodynamics of the 2014 Brabus SL65 AMG include a new front bumper and apron, attachments for the front fenders, a new hood scoop, a rear diffuser and a boot lid wing.
The Brabus 800 Roadster Mercedes SL65 AMG comes with 19- or 20-inch alloys, a 25 millimeters (1.0 inches) lowered suspension and a limited slip diff with a 40% locking rate.
Brabus is offering various styling upgrades for the SL65 AMG's interior too. The price of the new program has not been disclosed yet.
