Yeah baby! The latest generation Mercedes SL65 AMG (2013) has just been revealed, but unfortunately, you won't be able to drive it this summer. It will arrive in showrooms this fall. We'll get straight to business. The 2013 Mercedes SL65 AMG is powered by the 6.0-liter V12 engine which develops 630 hp between 4,800 rpm and 5,400 rpm, and a space-bending 1000 Nm of torque between 2,300 rpm and 4,300 rpm. Mercedes limits the top speed of the new SL65 AMG (2013) in Europe at 155 mph (250 km/h), but the USA version is limited to 186 mph. Mercedes lets you use the full potential of the SL65's engine for getting from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 4.0 seconds. Mercedes rates the fuel economy of the new SL65 (2013) at 24.4 mpg (11.6 l/100 km) (NDEC combined) and its CO2 emissions at 270 g/km.

Its fuel consumption for the United States market has not been announced.

The world debut of the 2013 Mercedes SL65 AMG will take place at the 2012 New York Auto Show. The new high-performance roadster will go on sale in the USA in November (prices to be announced), in UK this autumn and in the rest of Europe in September. The 2013 Mercedes SL65 AMG's price for the German market is set at 236,334 EUR (including VAT). The rest of Europe usually gets lower prices than the German market.

The new Mercedes SL65 AMG (2013) comes with several improvements over the previous version. For starters, it features an aluminum body, which is "responsible" for saving a lot of weight. The 2013 SL65 is 170 lighter than its predecessor is (total weight: 4,299 pounds / 1950 kg), which helps reduce the roadster's fuel consumption by 17%. The new SL65 (2013) comes with an AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC gearbox, a start/stop‑function, and an alternator management system. These three systems help further improve the SL65's efficiency.

The 2013 SL65 has a new "voice" as Mercedes gives it a re-designed sports exhaust system, which is 3.2 kilograms lighter than the previous one. The SL65's seven-speed transmission offers four driving modes: Controlled Efficiency (C), Sport (S), Sport plus (S+) and Manual (M). The lightweight construction principles have been applied to the 2013 SL65's suspension too. The steering knuckles and spring links of the 4-link front suspension and most of the multi-link independent rear suspension are made of aluminum. The suspension of the new SL65 (2013) offers two settings: Sport and Comfort. The electromechanical AMG speed-sensitive sports steering of the new SL65 AMG (2013) comes with 3-stage ESP and a SPORT Handling mode. The roadster also has a rear axle differential for the sideways action SL65 drivers always enjoy.

In terms of equipment, the 2013 Mercedes SL65 AMG has got it all. The panoramic vario-roof with MAGIC SKY CONTROL (optional), the AIRSCARF system and a Bang & Olufsen BeoSound surround sound system can all be installed in the new car. All the safety systems you would expect from a Mercedes are available for the new SL65 AMG (2013) too.
