Mercedes announced today the price and specifications of the new SL400. The Mercedes SL400 is powered by a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine with two turbochargers that develops 245 kW (333 hp) between 5,250 to 6,000 rpm and 480 Nm of torque between 1,600 and 4,000 rpm. According to the official specs, the Mercedes SL400 is able to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.2 seconds and to reach a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). In terms of efficiency, the new SL400 offers a 7.3 l/100 km fuel consumption and a 172 g/km CO2 emissions level. Mercedes builds the new SL400 almost entirely out of aluminum to keep its weight down. In comparison to the previous version of the SL400, the new one also has 20 kW (27 hp) and 110 Nm of torque more.
The new SL400 comes equipped with BlueDIRECT, direct injection with spray-guided combustion, Piezo injectors, rapid multi-spark ignition, MSI, a Frontbass system, and a MAGIC VISION CONTROL wipe/wash system. The Mercedes SL400's price starts at 97,282.50 Euros.
