Mercedes revealed the production GLC today, and frankly, it's a far cry from the mouth-watering beast they showed back in April. This soccer-mom version of the GLC measures 4,656 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,639 in height. As far as luggage space goes, you'll get a maximum of 1,600 liters. Mercedes plans to launch the GLC with one of three powertrains: GLC220d 4MATIC (170 hp, 400Nm), GLC250d 4MATIC (204 hp, 500Nm) and GLC250 4MATIC petrol (211 hp, 350 Nm). There'll be a hybrid version of the model too, in the person of the Mercedes GLC 350e. The Mercedes GLC 350e comes with the 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system, 211+116 hp and 560 Nm of torque. They say 0-64 mph takes 5.9 seconds in the Mercedes GLC 350e. We're wondering how much 0-62 mph (100 km/h) would take.
As you can imagine, Mercedes offers their full range of technology on the GLC. This includes safety, comfort, driver aid and entertainment functions.
The U.S. version of the Mercedes GLC is going to be powered by a 2.0-liter developing 241 hp at 5,500 rpm and 273 lb-ft of torque at 1,300-4,000 rpm. There're going to be two versions available at launch: the rear-wheel-drive GLC 300 and the all-wheel-drive GLC 300 4MATIC. Prices have not been announced yet, but Mercedes USA says the GLC will go on sale this November.
In Europe, the model's price list starts at €44,863.00 for the entry level GLC 220d and it goes up to €46,410.00 for the GLC 250d. The petrol version of the Mercedes GLC is priced from €44,506.00. The Mercedes GLC will go on sale in the EU in September this year.
