Daimler has to get a competitor for the BMW X6, so the Italian press has thought of one, the 2014 Mercedes GLC of which they also made a sketch. The 2014 Mercedes GLC will be a compact SUV, with X6-like coupe styling lines, that apparently will have the same base platform as the next generation A Class and B Class. They imagined the 2014 Mercedes GLC with a front-wheel-drive system and the company's 4Matic AWD. However, to compete with the X6 they will need a rear-wheel-drive drivetrain. These are speculations at the moment, and if Daimler decides to build a GLC Class, it will probably be set a little lower than the CLS on the price range.
The 2014 Mercedes GLC will definitely get petrol and diesel engines with power outputs between
170 hp 2.1 CDI to the 204 bhp 1,8-liter gasoline engine. We could also expect a Mercedes GLC AMG which will get the new 5.5-liter V8 biturbo engine. The power output of a Mercedes GLC AMG is not known yet, but we can tell you the 5.5-liter engine can output between 544 hp and 571 hp. with this much horses under its hood, the Mercedes GLC AMG will be on the same line as the X6M. then will have a battle.
