Cadillac announced today that the SRX will be made available with a 3.6L V6 engine, which promises to offer improved acceleration, together with E85 ethanol FlexFuel capabilities. GM's official power output figures say the Cadillac SRX 3.6L V6 develops 300 hp (224 kW) and 260 lb.-ft. (353 Nm) of torque. The extra 35 hp and 51 Nm of torque of the new Cadillac SRX V6 in comparison to the previous 3.0L V6 should improve both the 0 to 62 mph acceleration time and the SUV's top speed.

Apart from offering more power and torque, the new engine of the Cadillac SRX has a wider rpm range for its maximum torque. This results in an increased power availability for a wider range of driving conditions.

The Cadillac SRX 3.6L V6 is FlexFuel capable, which means it can run on both petrol and E85 ethanol, or any combination of the two. Cadillac says that the SRX 3.6L V6 will be able to offer a fuel economy of up to 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.

Cadillac did not announced the price for the new SRX 3.6L V6, but it says it will go on sale this summer.
