The French manufacturer announced today that the Citroen C-Cactus might go into production. The company embarked on a new project to look into the feasibility of producing an ultra-environmentally friendly vehicle based on the concept that was premiered at the Frankfurt Auto Show last year.

The production version of the Citroen C-Cactus will probably be powered by a 1.0 liter, sub 100g/km CO2 , petrol engine or a HYmotion2 diesel–electric hybrid powertrain that offers nearly 100mpg fuel economy and 78g/km of CO2 emissions. The company also takes into account going 100% electric on the Citroen C-Cactus, with a range of 100 miles and a top speed of 70 mph.

Some of the design features of the Citroen C-Cactus include the removed dashboard which offers an increased interior space and the two-part door panels (12 parts in a conventional car).
