Dodge goes Alfa Romeo in Europe

 »  »  »

One of today's rumors says Fiat, which is now in control of Chrysler, plans to re-brand Dodge for the European market. Apparently, Dodge cars will be sold as Alfa Romeo in Europe. Does this mean we could have an Alfa Romeo Viper and an Alfa Romeo Challenger in EU? However, Fiat and Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said he sees two brands as having the same image and mission as Dodge, one of which is Alfa Romeo. He also said he will have a strategy prepared for both brands by the end of July.

Dodge cars sold as Alfa Romeo's in Europe is only half the story. Marchionne is also considering selling Alfa Romeo models as Dodge in the United States. Dodge is one of the icons of the muscle car in the U.S. and Marchionne said he sees Alfa as the muscle car of the old continent.
