Electric Infiniti performance car confirmed

Mr Carlos Ghosn, President and CEO, Nissan Motor Co. Ltd confirmed today at the opening ceremony of the 41st Tokyo Motor Show that his company is planning to build an electric Infiniti performance car. The new electric Infiniti high-performance car will be a four-seat luxury model, compact and stylish, with zero-emissions. However, these are the only details released by the company regarding the new electric Infiniti performance model. They didn't even mention the name of the new car.

Ghosn also said that the a high-performance V6 diesel engine will be offered as part of the company's Western Europe line in 2010. He said the Infiniti M35 Hybrid will hit various markets starting from the spring of 2011.

Ghosn also assured that Infiniti is planning to offer the one of the widest line of powertrains available on the luxury segment.
