The Prancing Horse revealed today the Ferrari FXX K, which is based on the most extreme road going model they currently build, the LaFerrari. The world debut of the Ferrari LaFerrari FXX K is going to take place on the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi next weekend. The LaFerrari FXX K is Ferrari latest laboratory-car. This means its owners cannot take them home and they can drive it on the race track only. The "K" in its name comes from the KERS kinetic energy recovery system with which it is equipped. Because oh homologation issues, the owners of the Ferrari FXX K will not be able to race them in any competition. The Ferrari FXX K is powered by a 6,262 cc V12 engine that develops 860 hp at 9,200 rpm and 750 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Its electric motor outputs and extra 190 hp.
This means that in total, the Ferrari FXX K has a power output of 1,050 hp and more than 900 Nm of torque. The engine of the Ferrari FXX K is mated to a 7-speed DCT transmission and a rear-wheel-drive system.
The Ferrari FXX K measures 4,896 mm in length, 2,051 mm in width, and just 1,116 mm in height. It has a 2,650 mm long wheelbase.

Ferrari equips the Ferrari LaFerrari FXX K with Brembo carbon ceramic brakes with 398 x 223 x 36 mm discs at the front and 380 x 253 x 34 mm at the rear. Ferrari's FXX K features a double wishbones front suspension system and a multi-link rear one.
In comparison to the LaFerrari, the Ferrari FXX K comes with several modifications. Its engine features new camshafts and a modified valve train with mechanical tappets, new intake manifolds, and a bespoke exhaust that has no silencers. The FXX K's HY-KERS system offers four settings: Qualify, for maximum performance within a limited number of laps; Long Run to optimize performance consistency; Manual Boost for instant maximum torque delivery; and Fast Charge, for a fast recharge of the car’s battery.
The Ferrari FXX K's body kit includes a 30-mm lowered twin-profile spoiler and a larger splitter at the front. This design is an application of the concepts developed to improve aero balance in the GT category of the WEC, which Ferrari has won for three consecutive years. Two pairs of vertical elements, an endplate and, externally, a dive plane, together with vertical fins channel the air towards the car’s flanks, generating a longitudinal vortex that creates a localized depression. This in turn sucks the wake from the wheels to the outside of the aerodynamic underbody. Along with the side skirts that extend out from the sills, the vortex helps isolate the airflow from the underbody to boost its efficiency.
At the rear, the Ferrari LaFerrari FXX K comes with a massive diffuser and an interesting looking combo of wings.
Ferrari says that the new aerodynamics of the LaFerrari FXX K improve downforce by 50% in low drag configuration and by 30% in the more aggressive downforce configuration. The FXX K can generate as much as 540 kg of downforce at 200 km/h.
The Ferrari FXX K's price is going to be announced at a later date.
