Ferrari revealed today in Geneva their new supercar, which is called simply LaFerrari. The LaFerrari measures 4702 mm in length, 1992 mm in width, 1116 mm in height and it has a 2650 mm wheelbase. The LaFerrari is the first production Ferrari to be powered by a HY-KERS system. Called the ICE, LaFerrari's powertrain includes a 6262 cc V12 engine that's good for 800 hp at 9,000 rpm and 700 Nm of torque at 6,750 rpm. The internal combustion engine of the LaFerrari is mated to a 120 Kw (163 hp) electric motor. The total output of the LaFerrari is rated at a massive 963 hp and more than 900 Nm of torque. Ferrari says that the LaFerrari emits 330 g/km of CO@, but they did not disclose its fuel economy. Here come the performance figures.

Ferrari's official specifications of the LaFerrari say it can get from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 3 seconds, to 200 km/h in less than 7 seconds and to 300 km/h in just 15 seconds. Its top speed is rated at 350 km/h. Ferrari says that the LaFerrari is 5 seconds faster than the Enzo and over 3 seconds faster than the F12berlinetta on the Fiorano race track. The LaFerrari comes with an F1 dual-clutch transmission.

In fact the electric powertrain of the LaFerrari include two motors: one is powering the wheels and the other one is powering various other systems of the car.

Ferrari developed the motors in collaboration with Magneti Marelli, but they developed the LaFerrari's battery in-house. The LaFerrari's battery is recharged during braking, and during cornering when the car develops more torque than necessary.

The LaFerrari is one of the most aerodynamic efficient production supercar ever built. It has a drag coefficient of almost 3. The supercar comes with active aerodynamics, which include the front diffuser, the underbody guide vane, and the rear diffusers and spoiler.

The LaFerrari comes equipped with ESC, ABS/EBD, an EF1-Trac F1 electronic traction control that's integrated with the hybrid system, an E-Diff 3 third generation electronic differential, and SCM-E Frs magnetorheological damping with twin solenoids (Al-Ni tube). The LaFerrari comes with Brembo brakes, carbon-ceramic (CCM) discs, and Pirelli P-Zero tires.

The LaFerrari's price has not been announced yet, but the Italia supercar manufacturer says it's going to build just 499 of them.
