
Ford Racing Australia has unveiled today, ahead of its official debut at Sandown in Melbourne this weekend, the Ford FG01 V8 supercar. The Ford FG01 is based on the FG Falcon XR8 sedan and its development took over 18 months. The Ford FG01 is fitted with the Touring Car Entrants Group (TEGA) Blueprint specification and will be homologated in the middle of 2008.
TEGA specifications control every dimensional aspect of the Ford FG01 from the length, width, and height of the car to the suspension mounting points and front bumper and rear wing positions,
You'll be able to see the Ford FG01 prototype in the pit lane of the Sandown this weekend, from where it will go on a number of laps on the 3.1 kilometer circuit.
The Ford FG01 will enter the competition calendar next year.
