Ford gets the party started today with the new Fiesta Metal special edition, which will go on sale in the UK. This pretty interesting looking special edition of the Fiesta comes with the 1.6-litre, Duratec Ti-VCT petrol engine which is good for 134 PS at 6,700 rpm and 160 Nm of torque at 4,250 rpm. According to Ford, the Fiesta Metal will be able to get from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.7 seconds, which is not bad for a small hatch.
The main distinctive features of Ford's Metal Fiesta are its 17-inch wheels, which come with a very special Black finish. The new special edition is based on the 2009 Ford Fiesta Zetec S, which has received several upgrades, including 14 extra horsepowers. The Ford Fiesta Metal features
chromed twin exhaust pipes, a new front grille, and various exterior styling elements. For the interior of the Fiesta Metal, Ford uses Ebony Black leather sports seats with contrasting stitching, new floor mats and stainless steel door sills. The Fiesta Metal also comes with a lowered suspension.
Ford equips the Fiesta Metal as standard with ESP, ABS, EBD, Home Safe headlights, Electric Power-Assisted Steering (EPAS), Intelligent Protection System (IPS), and front, side and knee airbags.
The Ford Fiesta Metal price list starts at £15,695 GBP, and the Blue Oval says it will make only 1,000 of them.
