Jaguar released today a couple of spy images of the XF facelift. Under the pretext of revealing info about a new engine they're developing, Jaguar released two images of a camouflaged XF prototype. If you look closely at the photos, you'll notice that the camouflaged XF facelift prototype shows a new headlight design and bonnet profile.

The new info Jaguar released today, says the XF facelift will be sold with a new 2.2-litre diesel engine developing 190 PS and 332 lbs ft of torque. Powered by the new unit, the Jaguar XF facelift should offer a 52.3 mpg fuel consumption on the combined cycle and a 149 g/km CO2 emissions level. The new four-cylinder 16-valve common rail diesel engine has 2,179 cc of

displacement and comes equipped with a water-cooled turbocharger with low-friction pistons, new injectors and a new crankshaft. The Jaguar XF Facelift 2.2 diesel will be equipped with an intelligent Stop-Start system, a new oil pan and new electronic systems. The start Stop technology is expected to improve fuel efficiency by up to 7%. Jaguar took special care so that the new 2.2 diesel of the facelifted XF will make less noise than current models. They used active engine mounts to reduce vibration and took various sound deadening measures around the engine and bulkhead.



The facelifted Jaguar XF 2.2 will come with an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission, will be able to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.5 seconds and will have a top speed of 140 mph.
