RM Sotheby's, the New York City auction house, announced that the Lamborghini Concept S from back in 2006 will go under the hammer on November 18. The Lamborghini Concept S is going to be auctioned at Sotheby's global headquarters in Manhattan. The Lamborghini Concept S is based on the Gallardo Spyder and it had its world debut at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show. Its success at the Geneva show determined Lamborghini to put it into a limited production run. However, they limited its production to just this one unit. This is chassis 001. It is fully operable and street-legal, and it has been driven for only 180 km. The Concept S Lambo is expected to fetch between $2,400,000 and $3,000,000. This supercars is the brainchild of Luc Donckerwolke, who was Lamborghini's head of design at that time.

Lamborghini didn't go through with the production of the Concept S because it was too expensive and time consuming. Some of its distinctive design features include the so-called "saute-vent" windscreens, and the central "spine" that runs between the passenger and the driver.
