Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera will be launched in Geneva
Lamborghini has long been rumoured to be working on a new special edition Gallardo, which will most likely be called the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera or Super Light in english. As its name suggests, the Gallardo Superleggera will be a stripped-out race car built for the roads. Thanks to the extensive use of carbon-fiber and the removal of unnecessary comfort features from the cabin, the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera should weigh in at only 1,330kg (2,932 pounds).
The revisions to the car are said to give a 100kg (220.5 pounds) weight advantage over the standard Gallardo, and it’s expected to still maintain its
4WD system. The 5.0L V10 is expected to produce an additional 10hp, and when combined with the new lightweight body, it should propel the Superleggera to 100km/h from rest in just 3.8 seconds, 0.4 seconds better than the standard Gallardo.
