Recently, new details regarding the Murcielago's replacement - the Lamborghini V12 Jota - have surfaced the web. What we do know so far is that the Lamborghini Jota will be powered by a direct injection 7.0-litre V12 engine developing around 700 hp (525kW, 720 hp also speculated) and around 700Nm of torque. The new Lamborghini Jota will weigh around 1.5 tons and will be able to rocket from 0 to 100 km/h in 3 seconds. The top speed of the Lamborghini Jota is speculated to be around the 220 mph or 350 km/h.

Although it will have more power, the Lamborghini Jota will have a better fuel economy than the current Murcielago. Some say the Lamborghini Jota will have a combined fuel consumption of around 12 liters / 100 km. The CO2 emissions of the

Lamborghini Jota are also expected to drop in comparison to the Murcielago.

The Lamborghini Jota has been designed in-house by the company and features a carbon fiber chassis and various carbon body parts which help reduce the weight of the car. The Lamborghini Jota will be four-wheel-drive and will use a 7-speed double-clutch transmission. However, it's known that the Italian carmaker is not a fan of such gearboxes, so an automated transmission with paddle shifters is more likely.

The Lamborghini Jota will also use the torque vectoring technology from Audi which offers even better handling.

Some sources believe that the Lamborghini Jota will be the company's first model to also be offered as a hybrid, but this is a very unlikely speculation.

Expect to see the trademark lambo scissors doors on the Lamborghini Jota, a leather / Alcantara / carbon fiber combo on the interior and a head-up display.

The Lamborghini Jota price is expected to go beyond the 350,000 EUR mark.
