To establish the Lancia Delta EuroNCAP rating the car went through a series of crash tests including frontal, side impact and rolling over. The tests have been carried out at different speeds and with various obstacles in a total of 80 crashes. The Lancia Delta managed an EuroNCAP safety rating of five stars.
The safety equipment list of the new Lancia Delta includes 6 airbags, three-point seat belts with pretensioners and load limiters, ABS with EBD, the latest development of the ESP system (termed the Absolute Handling System) and ‘active electronics steering’ (DST).
