According to a recent rumor, the Lexus IS wagon is in the works as a second body style for the model. In order to compete with the BMW 3 Series and the Mercedes C Class, the Japanese carmaker has to launch the Lexus IS wagon version. The same source says the Lexus IS wagon will be a hybrid, as the entire next IS generation.
The Lexus IS wagon will be a part of the third generation of the model which will be unveiled sometime next year. The exact technical details of the Lexus IS wagon are not known yet, but the company will probably offer it with a choice between petrol and diesel engines.
