Mercedes C55 AMG Coupe Info

 »  »  »

Recently, the Mercedes C55 AMG Coupe has been spied during testing. Although the Mercedes C55 AMG Coupe prototype is wearing some camouflage, it was given away by the double oval twin exhaust pipes which are AMG's trademark. The most obvious speculation is that the Mercedes C55 AMG Coupe will be powered by the new 5.5-liter biturbo engine. This engine comes in various power outputs. In the CLS63 AMG, the 5.5-liter unit outputs 518 hp at 5,500 rpm and 516 lb-ft of torque between 1750 and 5000 rpm. In the Mercedes C55 AMG Coupe however, the output might be taken down a bit, at around 450 hp.

With this engine, the Mercedes C55 AMG Coupe could get a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration time of less than 5 seconds, and an

electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

The Mercedes C55 AMG Coupe debut is expected to take place at the Geneva motor show in March, at which point we'll have more details on the new model.
