Mercedes revealed today a special edition version of the C63 AMG, which is pretty much the closest thing you can get to a Black Series. The Edition 507 C63 AMG is powered by the 6.3-litre V8 engine that has been upgraded to output 507 hp at 6,800 rpm and 610 Nm of torque at 5,200 rpm. The C63 Black has just 10 hp and 10 Nm of torque more. The Mercedes C63 AMG Edition 507 is going to be available as a coupe, a sedan and an estate, all of them having a top speed of 174 mph (280 km/h). Mercedes says that the C63 Edition 507 is a result of the technology they used in the SLS. This means forged pistons, connecting rods and a lightweight crankshaft. The C63 AMG Edition 507 comes by default with a composite braking system with 360 x 36 mm discs and red calipers.

The coupe and saloon versions of the C63 AMG Edition 507 get from nought to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds and the estate is 0.1 seconds behind.

The Mercedes C63 AMG Edition 507 also features a titanium grey-painted variable intake manifold, a new engine control system and the same bonnet as the Black Series. Other distinctive features of the C63 AMG Edition 507 include the 19-inch alloys, the boot lid spoiler, the exterior mirror housings and the surrounds on the radiator grille.

For the interior of the C63 AMG Edition 507, Mercedes is offering various designo leather options, an Alcantara-covered steering wheel, and various other styling options. The equipment list of the C63 Edition 507 includes a rear axle locking differential, and a performance suspension system.

The Mercedes C63 AMG Edition 507's price has not been announced yet, but the German carmaker says it's going to premiere it at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show. The new special edition will go on sale in Europe on 8 April 2013.
