Nissan has announced that it will unveil the Nissan 370Z convertible at the New York Auto Show on April 8th, 2009. The designer of the new Z car says the Nissan 370Z convertible will look a lot better than the previous 350Z cabrio. The Nissan 370Z in its coupe form has been launched in November last year and it goes on sale in North America this month.

The Nissan 370Z convertible will probably be powered by the same engine as its coupe sibling - a 3.7-liter unit developing 270 lb-ft of torque and 332 hp. The engine will be coupled with either a manual or an automatic transmission.

The company says the Nissan 370Z convertible will feature a soft-top and that a hard-top is completely out of the question.

More details and images of the new Nissan 370Z convertible will be released closer to reveal date in a few months time.
