Last week, the last Porsche Carrera GT was assembled in Leipzig. The 460,000 EUR model was a really big success for Porsche. Since 2004, Porsche has built 1282 units.

The Porsche Carrera GT was meant to be a competitor for Le Mans, but the initial plan has been changed. Based on the GT1, the Porsche Carrera GT should have been replaced the 1980 959. It weights 3042 lbs and is powered by a V10 engine with an output of 600 hp at 8400 rpm. The Porsche Carrera GT makes the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 3.9 seconds and reaches the 200 km/h in less than 10. It has a top speed of 205 mph.

The Porsche Carrera GT will be replaced by Panamera on the assembly lines in Leipzig.
